Growing up in the Edenvale community was tough. I could easily have dropped out and gotten into trouble. Instead, I was introduced to the Adopt-A-College Program. The Adopt-A-College Scholarship was my first and others followed. Thanks to Edenvale, I have a BA from UCLA and MA from Columbia University.

I am a junior now at SJSU and working to pay my own way through college. My family stayed in the community so that my littlest sister could also attend Edenvale School. I come back to Edenvale every year and talk to the kids about doing their best and staying in school. The Adopt-A-College Program really motivated me to graduate from high school and go to college.

Starting in kindergarten, each teacher tells all children they can go to college. My children now have the desire to go to college and I don't talk that would have happened if they didn't talk about it in school. That is what is most wonderful to me"
